What is the Soul Siesta?
Started in 2000, the Soul Siesta is an annual Caribbean getaway designed for the Mature and Classy Urban Trendsetter. It all takes place amidst the backdrop of the “New Caribbean” - Republica Dominicana.

Why was the Dominican Republic chosen as home for this annual Caribbean event?
Still a new destination for many, the Dominican Republic possesses one of the most tantalizing cultures in all the Caribbean. The Dominican people, cuisine, music, highly energized party atmosphere, and superb service make it the perfect host destination for the Soul Siesta. Collectively, our 100+ trips to DR over 15 years have solidified our expertise on this beautiful Caribbean destination and ultimately your good time?

How was the name Soul Siesta created?
Merengue and Bachata, popular Dominican dances/music, perfectly complement the (Soulful) nature of our crowd. In addition, a portion of our event includes time for relaxation. In Republica Dominicana, a common cultural tradition allows for a 1 to 2 hour afternoon break (Siesta) during the workday. We borrowed the name “Siesta” to highlight this day of relaxation within the event.

What travel documents are required for the Dominican Republic AND return to the United States?
A valid passport is required for travel to and from the Dominican Republic

What are the demographics of the Soul Siesta crowd?
Predominantly African-Americans and Latinos, ages 25 to 40, from a variety of backgrounds sharing a common interest - A Classy and Mature Caribbean event. All are welcome to attend, but you are required to enhance our Exotic Blend Of Urban Soul & Latin Flava'.

How many people attend the Soul Siesta?
Since the beginning Soul Siesta has attracted an average of 150 guests, increasing each year. Upon arrival at the host resort/city, additional guests join us after hearing about our events. In 2009 we entertained approximately 250 new and returning travelers.....our best ever. For our ten year anniversary (2010) we expect between 300 and 350 guests - Quality Before Quantity!

How does the ‘Soul Siesta’ compare to other annual events?
The Soul Siesta is a developed brand of its own. While many of the event’s features are party-oriented as other getaways, Soul Siesta is not dependent on thousands of guests to make it a first class getaway. Furthermore, Soul Siesta is an experience, not just an event.

What events will take place during the 2010 Soul Siesta?
Events will be posted after January 1, 2010

Are Soul Siesta events included in the travel packages?
All Soul Siesta events, and applicable ground transportation, are included if accommodations (with or without air) are purchased with Soul Siesta. For the best value, purchase your accommodations with Soul Siesta and gain access to all events.

If I stay at the host resort, but have booked my own accommodations, will I be able to access all Soul Siesta events on and off the host resort?
Only if you purchase a Soul Siesta Party Package (details April 1, 2010 at www.SoulSiestaOnline.com)

What does the land only package include?
Meals, drinks, accommodations, ground transportation in Punta Cana, and all Soul Siesta events.

What if there are Soul Siesta events held “at the host resort”, but I’m staying at another resort? This is the one exception where you will be granted access to the host resort, with the purchase of a day and/or night pass at the resort. However, you will be restricted to that event which you are attending. Again, since this is an all-inclusive resort, access is restricted to those guests staying at the resort. As previously mentioned, purchase your accommodations with Soul Siesta (staying at the host resort - Punta Cana Princess), and gain access to all events.

Why should I stay at the host resort?
The Punta Cana Princess Resort will be the hub of all Soul Siesta activity. Although some events will take place off the resort, staying at the host resort allows for a more complete Soul Siesta experience as you can mingle day and night with all Soul Siesta guests. Remember, since this in an all-inclusive resort, access is restricted (via wristband) to those guests staying at the resort.

Why are you selling Soul Siesta packages with air, but only from certain cities?
While we have guests who attend the Soul Siesta from many cities and several countries, we normally have a very large group from select cities traveling on the same itinerary.

I know air rates are subject to increase until purchased. If I need to purchase airfare, what options do I have and what are the current rates?

Can I purchase group airfare?
Yes, with a 10 person minimum traveling to/from the same city.

If I don’t purchase my travel package with Soul Siesta (with or without air), will I be able to buy tickets to individual events and/or a party package once I arrive at the resort and/or event venues? What are the prices? Individual tickets and party passes will be available, but you will receive the best value purchasing the travel package, with or without air, from Soul Siesta. This purchase, and your stay at the host resort - Punta Cana Princess, will grant you access to all Soul Siesta events and ground transportation (to/from Punta Cana Princess lobby) to all events. To serve the needs of all guests, individual tickets will be made available for each event and the price is determined “at the door”. Party passes, to access all events including transportation, will be available April 1, 2010 at www.SoulSiestaOnline.com. Until purchase, all prices are subject to change without notice.

Is it cheaper to purchase a complete travel package from Soul Siesta, or handle my own travel arrangements?
This is where you see the value of staying at the host resort (Punta Cana Princess Resort), and booking through Soul Siesta. Our land only rates are sure to be the best available, including all Soul Siesta events.
